Synopsis
In a Kurdish village, 78-year-old Khadijeh comes across an injured stork and tries to heal it before its flock migrates. She is also worried about her daughter migrating to Britain. Her nearly 100-year-old husband, Majid, is unhappy with Khadijeh’s divided attention and wants to release the stork. However, Khadijeh is determined to care for the stork until it fully recovers. Will both the stork and Khadijeh’s daughter take flight?

Director's Bio
Hemen Khaledi, born in 1991 in Oshnavieh, Rojhilati Kurdistan, was raised in the mountains—where reverence for nature, family, and communal identity are woven into everyday life—his cinematic gaze is contemplative, poetic, and ethnographic. His debut work as a writer and director, Singing Wings, embodies this vision, interweaving the migration of bird and human and raising universal questions about belonging, loyalty, and coexistence with nature. Even in the most remote village, one can portray a world worthy of being heard, seen, and honored.
