Kurdish Heritage Month is a celebration of resilience, history, and cultural continuity. In the face of generations of displacement, cultural erasure, and hardship, honouring Kurdish heritage affirms the enduring contributions of the Kurdish people to art, literature, music, and community life.

As NYKCC launches the fifth edition of Kurdish Heritage Month, we invite state officials, human rights advocates, and community leaders to formally recognize March 21 as Kurdish New Year (Newroz) and to acknowledge March as Kurdish Heritage Month. Such recognition affirms the value of diversity and the importance of preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of the Kurdish people.
