Synopsis
Mosul is a city with 8,000 years of history. The battle to liberate the city from the Islamic State devastated it, and even now its fight to heal and to preserve its identity, culture, and art is not over. Three men refuse to let Mosul remain in ruins or fade into oblivion and struggle to reclaim its soul.

Director's Bio
Zaradasht Ahmed, born in Bashuri Kurdistan, studied television and multimedia production at the University of Stavanger, earning his BA in 2006. He is now an IDFA-winning Kurdish-Norwegian filmmaker with over 20 years of experience. He has worked extensively across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia, capturing human resilience through documentary filmmaking. renowned for his compelling storytelling in conflict zones. His most acclaimed documentary, Nowhere to Hide (2016), received over 20 prestigious international awards, including Best Feature Documentary at IDFA (2016), Best Documentary at the One World Human Rights Festival (2017), and two Emmy Award nominations (2019). . In addition to directing, he has trained local communities in documentation, empowering those living in some of the world’s most volatile regions to tell their own stories.
