“Commander Arian, a Kurdish guerrilla fighter, was struck by five bullets by ISIS terrorist and jihadist members. Surviving her injuries, she comes face to face with the physical and emotional cost of war and is forced to redefine her role in the ongoing struggle for women’s freedom. The film is directed by the Catalan filmmaker Alba Sotorra, who lived in Rojava (West Kurdistan) to witness and document the Kurdish struggle for freedom, dignity, and humanity. The film will be available for four days only, exclusively through the New York Kurdish Cultural Center as part of the 5th edition of Kurdish Heritage Month celebration.”
