In April 2019, a group of Westerners visited the Arts and Culture Center (Çand û Hunera) in Kobane.

One of the songs these young musicians performed on their tambours was “Mistanour,”  a reference to Mistanour Hill, an upland south of Kobane that was contested during the battle against ISIS.
