Synopsis
In the city of Kobane, after the ISIS attack of June 2015 (the Black Night), a tailor continues to sew, hoping that his customers will return. He talks to his wife and daughter, who were victims of the massacre—he keeps their bodies in a locked room. Finally he decides to destroy a wall and let the sun shine on their bodies, hoping that light will overcome the darkness.

Director's Bio
Maryam Samadi was born in 1988 and lives in Urmia. In 2009 she studied cinema at Iran’s Young Cinema Association. Her short films have screened at festivals and been nominated for awards: The Summer of the Swans (2017), Karnica (2020), Salt Sellers (2023), and A House Near the Sun (2023).
Roni Schamlian was born in 1978 in Kobane and has lived in Germany for 23 years. He works as an actor, appearing in The Road to Aleppo (2013) and in several films by Maryam Samadi, including Salt Sellers. He is a co-director for A House Near the Sun.
مەریەم سەمەدی لە دایکبووی ساڵی ١٩٨٨ و لە شاری ورمێ نیشتەجێیە. ساڵی ٢٠٠٩ لە کۆمەڵەی سینەمای گەنجانی ئێران سینەمای خوێندووە. کورتە فیلمەکانی لە فێستیڤاڵەکاندا نمایشکراون و پاڵێوراون بۆ خەڵاتەکان: The Summer of the Swans (٢٠١٧)، Karnica (٢٠٢٠)، Salt Sellers (٢٠٢٣)، A House Near the Sun (٢٠٢٣).
