Zagros Film Festival
The Zagros Film Festival is the first online Kurdish film festival. In its second edition, running for the month of February 2025, it is screening 20 Kurdish films. These influential feature and short films highlight the identity and history of the Kurdish people, with the intention of introducing Kurdish culture and heritage to a global audience. The films are in Kurdish with English subtitles.
Some of the films will be familiar to those who attended the New York Kurdish Film Festival in recent years!
“Dear art lovers, cinema enthusiasts, and friends of Kurdish culture from around the world,” reads the website, “welcome to a unifying art activity that transcends borders, geographies, and languages.” The twenty films originate from various regions of Kurdistan and are filmed in different dialects of Kurdish.
