The festival was dedicated to Ev\u00een Goy\u00ee, Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman K\u0131z\u0131l, the martyrs of the 23 December 2022 massacre.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3832\" src=\"https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/oldsite\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-poster-240x300.jpg\" alt=\"Paris inauguration poster\" width=\"300\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-poster-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-poster-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-poster-768x960.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-poster.jpg 1127w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>On the festival\u2019s opening day, Kurdish dancers, theatrical performers, and musicians took to the streets in Paris\u2019s 10th arrondissement,. The festive cultural parade ended at the arrondissement\u2019s city hall, where French senators and city councilors welcomed Kurdish participants inside for the opening ceremony. Berivan F\u0131rat, speaking on behalf of the CDK-F, greeted everyone, saluted Kurdish culture,and stated that the festival was dedicated to the martyrs of the December 23 racist attack.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In attendance were Paris senator R\u00e9mi F\u00e9raud, Communist Party senator Laurence Cohen, 10th Arrondisssement council member Elie Joussellin, France-Kurdistan Association president Sylvie Jan, Acort president \u00dcmit Metin, Chaldean institution representatives, Kabul Women&#8217;s Federation, Actit, and Sarcelles Municipality officials<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Senator F\u00e9raud stated that he was honored to host the festival in his arrondissement and that &#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/anfenglish.com\/culture\/second-day-of-paris-kurdish-culture-festival-67047\">10th<\/a>Arrondissement is the home of the Kurds. It is an honor to host such an event in the municipality.&#8221; Paying tribute to three martyrs, other French politicians referred to the coming Turkish elections, observing that a defeat of President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan would promote cultural diversity both in Turkey and the diaspora. Toppling Erdo\u011fan would, said Councilor Joussellin, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/medyanews.net\/paris-kurdish-cultural-festival-kicks-off-with-tribute-to-victims-of-attack-last-year\/\">develop<\/a> a Turkey open to the world. . . . Erdo\u011fan is not a friend of culture. The far-right and the fascists have always wanted to defeat culture.\u201d<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-de-paris-inauguration\/\">inauguration<\/a> continued with the slogans \u201cMartyrs never die\u201d and \u201cJin, Jiyan, Azadi\u201d and closed with performances by the Rojbin Paris Govend Team, the singer and musician Meral Alkan, and the singer Ula\u015f Kela\u015f\u00een.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second day featured a <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-de-paris-brunch-traditionnel-kurde\/\">brunch<\/a> of traditional Kurdish dishes, with authentic flavors of Kurdish cuisine, renowned for its hearty and spicy dishes. The friendly atmosphere offered participants an opportunity to meet\u00a0 and to discuss Kurdish culture.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3833\" src=\"https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/oldsite\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-schedule-213x300.jpg\" alt=\"Paris Kurdish Cultural Festival schedule\" width=\"300\" height=\"423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-schedule-213x300.jpg 213w, https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-schedule-726x1024.jpg 726w, https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-schedule-768x1083.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nykcc.org\/oldsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Paris-schedule.jpg 851w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>On the third day, \u015eanoya Baj\u00ear a Amed\u00ea\u00a0 (The Theater of the City of Diyarbakir) <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-de-paris-theatre\/\">performed<\/a> the play <em>Tartuffe<\/em> by Moli\u00e8re. Founded in 1990, the troupe continues its creations and performances despite repression. In 2016, the AKP government deprived the company was of its theater hall and its subsidies, but it continued its productions, testifying to the resilience of Kurdish artistic organizations and their persistence in bringing Kurdish culture and language to life.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the fourth day, the town of Bobigny <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-de-paris-soiree-musicale-avec-buffet-kurde\/\">welcomed<\/a> the Festival for a musical evening by several local artists, including <em>dengb\u00eaj<\/em> (Kurdish bards) performances. It also offered a buffet of Kurdish culinary specialties.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fifth day was set aside for activities for <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-de-paris-atelier-enfants\/\">children<\/a>.\u00a0 At the Democratic Center of Kurdistan-Paris, they could discover Kurdish languages, music, and dances, learn traditional games, and explore music, dance, and art.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sixth day featured a <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-de-paris-projection\/\">screening<\/a> of <em>Dar\u00ean Bi Ten\u00ea<\/em> (The Lonely Trees), a documentary that explores the tradition of <em>dengb\u00eaj<\/em> in Rojava. Produced by the Rojava Film Commune, the documentary pays tribute to the singers, poets, and storytellers who transmit from generation to generation Rojava\u2019s stories, dances, and cultural heritage.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final day brought together renowned Kurdish <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-concert-final\/\">musicians<\/a> for a major concert, including\u00a0Ruken Y\u0131lmaz, Bajar, and Mehmet Atl\u0131.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ongoing during the festival was an <a href=\"https:\/\/cdkf.fr\/evenement\/festival-culturel-kurde-de-paris-expo-dessins\/\">exhibition<\/a> of paintings dedicated to the Woman, Life, Freedom movement.
