We are delighted that the internationally renowned pop singer Navid Zardi will appear at our film festival. He will make remarks at our opening on Friday, October 20, and will be interviewed on Saturday, October 21, at 5pm.

Navid Zardi was born in Mahabad, in Rojhelat (Iranian Kurdistan) and currently resides in Düsseldorf, Germany. He began his career in 2013 with the release of the single “Forsat.”

His music blends influences from traditional Persian folk music as well as contemporary Western music. He also incorporates elements of rock, jazz, and pop. His lyrics often deal with themes of love, heartbreak, and society.

His many hits and mega-hits have gained him millions of fans worldwide. His albums include To (2018), Zhianawa (2012), and Rega (2011). He also released the  three-track EP Nigaran Maba (2016).

His popular singles include “Azizakam,” “Bombe,” “Faryad Son,” “Halparke To,” “Lawa Lawa,” “To Pirozi,” and “Wara Dare.” His latest mega hit, “Poz,” from his new album, features the French singer GIMS.

Zardi’s singles have been streamed millions of times on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. He has been nominated for several awards including the Golden Globe Award for Best International Song.

Zardi strives to promote Kurdish culture through his content and songs. He has collaborated with other renowned musicians such as Mohsen Yeganeh and Sasy. His collaborative video with Shahin Najafi criticized the Iranian regime.

Zardi is the founder and CEO of NZ Production, a large entertainment and production company, through which he has produced hits for other young Kurdish artists.
