Lukman Ahmad, painter
Lukman Ahmad, Kurdish painter, was born in Syria and is self-educated. He has had over 45 exhibitions including both solo and group shows in Syria, Turkey, Iraqi Kurdistan, Switzerland, Lebanon, and the United States. He tries to highlight the human rights violations he has witnessed. His work combines symbolism and imagination, color and rhythm, to transport the viewer into the world he lived and the emotions he witnessed. He has worked with VOA’s Kurdish Service since 2014.
