Synopsis:
On the tenth anniversary of Daesh’s 2014 attack on the Yazidis of Sinjar, a Yazidi woman now living in Canada recalls her horrific experience.

Director’s biography:
Halime Akturk is a Kurdish-Canadian documentary filmmaker and independent producer. In 2023, she was awarded the Toronto Arts Foundation Newcomer Award for her documentary work. Halime, an award-winning journalist from Turkey, has received grants from institutions such as the Canada Council for the Arts for her documentary projects through which she attempts to center stories of women, Kurds, and minorities.
