Calling All Kurdish Culture Creators!

Share your work in a short video for Kurdish Heritage Month!

Friends, every year for Kurdish Heritage Month, we present interviews and events by Kurdish culture creators.

This year we’re doing something different. If you are a Kurdish culture creator, we invite you to make a short video about your work.

We’ll feature videos on our website and on our YouTube channel.

How to create and submit your video

Set yourself up with good lighting, look into your webcam or video camera, and introduce yourself—tell us your name and where you live.

You can speak English, Kurdish, or Sorani.

Then show a few examples of your work, and talk about them.

Are you a Kurdish visual artist? Show us your paintings or sculptures.

Are you a Kurdish poet? Read one or two of your poems.

Are you a Kurdish writer? Read a short story.

Are you Kurdish musician? Play a piece for us on your musical instrument, or sing.

Are you a Kurdish dancer? Show us a few steps.

Are you a Kurdish actor? Act out a short scene, alone or with a friend.

Are you a Kurdish filmmaker? Send us a clip of your latest film, or a trailer.

The videos should be 3-8 minutes long. When you finish the video, send it to us at info@nykcc.org, Subject line: “for Kurdish Heritage Month.”

We’ll feature the videos on our website, on our social media, and on our YouTube channel.

Dealing for submissions: February 25.

Conditions:

We reserve the right to approve the videos before publication, based on artistic merit and artistic excellence. We will notify you by email if we accept your video.

Legal disclaimer: Please do not include anything in your video that would violate the copyright of others. We must be free to screen the accepted videos without any legal encumbrances. By submitting a video, you signify that you understand and accept this condition.

We look forward to seeing your video!
