Afrin Fine Arts Festival, 1st edition

The First Afrin Fine Art Festival will be held in Essen, Germany, on November 4, 2023.

A group of Kurdish artists and intellectuals in Europe organized the event to call attention to the grim reality of the destruction of Kurdish Afrin.The Turkish state backed an invasion of Afrin Canton in March 2018. Turkey has occupied it ever since, expelling the Kurdish population, who have lived there from time immemorial, to engineer its demography. In the process Turkish forces have committed countless war crimes and atrocities. 

More than 150 painters from around the world will show their work. A jury will select the best 4 paintings for commendation.
